NC 434 Misty Barn, Bonsall

Misty Barn, Bonsall, has been painted using thinned down acrylic paints (same colour wash techniques as watercolour medium but adding white pigment to tint colours) to give an atmospheric look to the image. There are many of these limestone barns dotted around the Peak District, some that are looked after and still used for agricultural purposes, others that have been converted into dwellings for hoilday use and others that are derelict and roofless. There is a project in Bonsall, Derbyshire, to restore many of their derelict local barns, some of which are home to beautiful wildlife such as barn owls and and different species of bats.
