I have painted this view, from the road above Crowdecote village in the Derbyshire Peak District, a number of times before. Looking across to the limestone peaks of Chrome and Parkhouse Hills that are part of the Upper Dove Valley, there aren’t that many views more inspiring than this one, especially when bathed in evening winter sunlight.
