Winter Sunlight, Gag Lane (NC 447)

Winter Sunlight, Gag Lane (NC 447)

Winter Sunlight, Gag Lane, painted in opaque water soluble gouache on card, is the second image I have painted of these trees, ‘Trees on Gag Lane‘ is the first. There are many clumps of trees such as these dotted over the high points of the Peak District, these particular ones are mainly Sycamore trees that have quite dense foliage in the summer months. My aim with this image was to get the effect of the sun shining through the trees on a very cold misty winters day.
