Passing Cloud Shadows, Parkhouse (NC 436)

Parkhouse Hill above the River Dove temporarily covered with passing cloud shadows in late October. Viewed from a ford where the infant River Dove separates the counties of Derbyshire and Staffordshire. There is some evidence of the effects of global warming and climate change, the River Bank is quite badly eroded near the footbridge following heavy persistent rainfall causing the river to flood. Dovedale, south of the famous Stepping Stones that cross the river, has also been badly effected with the paths being badly eroded in places. This area is part of the ‘white peak’ area of the Peak District National Park.
