Kite Flying at Shipley Park (NC 270)
Shipley Country Park was developed from a former coal mine, near Heanor, in east Derbyshire and is now a haven for all kinds of wildlife. It was originally part of an estate belonging to the Millar Mundy family who intensified coal mining in the area before it was nationalised as part of the UK coal industry in 1947. My wife and daughter are kite flying!
