Upper Musden Beeches (NC 437)

Upper Musden Beeches look beautiful in their autumn colours, situated to the north west of the old limestone farmhouse in the Peak District, acting as a barrier to the predominant source of wind direction in the winter. This is a very familiar scene to me having walked past these buildings many times on family outings. It was painted in gouache – an opaque medium that has it’s own unique properties and lends itelf to this type of image.
